The tool manufacturer BASS recently welcomed a team from the national broadcaster ZDF. While researching various real-world examples for a television segment on “Artificial Intelligence in Business—Opportunities and Challenges,” a ZDF reporter came across the threading specialist.
The reason for this was the “TEAMO” platform, which BASS uses to continuously improve communication and transparency. Here, all employees can provide daily feedback on how their workday went: They can share positive experiences, but also raise issues that didn’t go as well as they could have or express their wishes. Artificial intelligence can derive recommendations for action for supervisors from these messages, thereby contributing to the continuous improvement of both working conditions and communication.
The threading specialist is also testing artificial intelligence in production and administrative areas to determine what is effective—and where AI has its limitations. For example, a project aimed at identifying potential customers in a particular industry was not successful—which was precisely the focus of the article. The goal was to highlight both the costs and benefits, thereby shedding light on the various challenges alongside the advantages. Managing Director Martin Zeller emphasized that introducing AI without targeted training leads to inefficient use, resulting in more effort than benefit. BASS is therefore developing a special training series to familiarize all employees with artificial intelligence and thus gradually integrate AI into work processes in a meaningful and sustainable way.
