Future Prize "career at home"

For its commitment to careers in the Main-Tauber-Kreis, BASS was awarded with the 3rd prize in this year’s competition.

On November 22, the institute for regional business development of the Main-Tauber-Kreis has already awarded the future prize for the third consecutive year. Starting with the category “family-friendly enterprise” in 2012, this year’s focus was on the vocational training of the local companies: “Apprenticeship – career at home”. Last Tuesday, 25 representatives of the companies participating in the competition gathered in the town hall of Tauberbischofsheim for the award ceremony.

BASS from Niederstetten was one of these participants. With its comprehensive approach, the medium-sized and family-owned company has already been successful in the previous competitions. BASS won the 3rd prize in the category “family-friendly enterprise” in 2012 and the 2nd prize in the category “Welcoming culture” in 2014. The company has accomplished to impressively demonstrate that the motto of BASS “The people are in the focus” is also applicable to the tool manufacturer’s apprenticeship. For its commitment to careers in the Main-Tauber-Kreis, BASS was awarded with the 3rd prize in this year’s competition.

“Our home is near and dear to us. That is why it is so important for us to offer successful apprenticeships and attractive training opportunities,” explained Dr. Stefanie Leenen, managing director of BASS. Besides the training occupations within the dual system, e.g. as industrial mechanic, BASS offers a variety of local dual study programs in cooperation with the Cooperative State Universities of Mosbach and Bad Mergentheim. The company attaches just as much importance to own young talents which is shown by the constantly high apprenticeship quota of 16%.

According to the jury, both the benefits provided as well as the commitment to retain junior employees in the region shown by BASS, goes far beyond the normal scope: “The apprentices receive intensive support during their working hours and are prepared for upcoming exams. Excellently structured processes – a major characteristic of production – are an essential part of our vocational training as well.” The jurors of the regional business development were especially convinced and rather impressed by the intensive support of the vocational trainees and the consistent overall concept to integrate apprentices in the company from the very first day.

For BASS, the 3rd prize is both a confirmation and motivation to remain true to the motto “The people are in the focus”.
